I am the data controller for the information described in this policy. If you have any question about your data, just write to me at the email above.

What information I collect

  • Contact information: your name, email address, phone number, and any details you share when you fill in a contact form or email me.

  • Booking information: the information needed to organize your tour, such as your full name, date of birth, nationality, passport or ID details when required by insurance or travel providers, emergency contact, dietary needs, and the travel details you share with me.

  • Health and mobility information: only if you choose to share it (for example, a medical condition or physical limitation), so I can plan the tour safely.

  • Payment information: payments are processed by Stripe and Wise. I do not see or store your full card details.

  • Billing information: your name, address, and tax number (if provided), to issue invoices.

  • Website data: basic technical information collected by Squarespace when you browse the site, such as your browser type, device, and pages visited, through cookies. You can manage cookies at any time through the Cookie Preferences link at the bottom of the site.

Why I use your information

  • To answer your questions and send you information you asked for (based on your request).

  • To organize and deliver your tour, including booking accommodation, transport, and activities on your behalf (necessary to fulfill our contract).

  • To arrange the insurance required by law for tour participants (legal obligation).

  • To process payments and issue invoices (contract and legal obligation).

  • To keep you safe during the tour (vital interests and your consent, for health information).

  • To improve the website and understand how visitors use it (legitimate interest and, where required, your consent for cookies).

I do not sell your personal information, and I do not use it for advertising profiles.

Newsletter

If you subscribe to my newsletter, I will use your name and email address to send you news about upcoming tours, workshops, photo guides, and photography tips from the Azores. I will only send it if you have actively signed up (your consent). Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can leave at any time. Your email address is stored with my newsletter provider and is never shared with anyone else.

Who I share it with

I only share your information with the providers needed to run my business and your tour:

  • Accommodation, transport, and activity providers involved in your trip.

  • Insurance companies, for the mandatory tour insurance.

  • Squarespace (website, forms, and newsletter), Stripe and Wise (payments), Google (email), and my invoicing software and accountant.

  • Public authorities, when required by law.

Some of these providers, such as Squarespace, Stripe, and Google, may process data outside the European Union, including in the United States. When this happens, they use safeguards approved by the European Commission, such as Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Photos taken during tours

During tours and workshops I sometimes take photos that may include participants. I will always ask for your permission before publishing any photo where you can be identified, on the website or social media. You can say no, or ask me to remove a published photo at any time.

How long I keep your data

  • Contact messages that do not lead to a booking: up to 2 years.

  • Booking information: for the duration of the tour and up to 3 years afterwards, to handle any questions or claims.

  • Invoices and accounting records: 10 years, as required by Portuguese tax law.

  • Health information: deleted after the tour ends.

  • Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

Under the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to access your data, correct it, ask me to delete it, limit or object to how I use it, receive a copy of it, and withdraw your consent at any time when the use is based on consent. To exercise any of these rights, email me at bruno.azera@gmail.com and I will reply within 30 days.

If you believe your data has been handled improperly, you can also file a complaint with the Portuguese data protection authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD), at www.cnpd.pt.

Children

My tours and website are aimed at adults. Minors can only join a tour with a parent or legal guardian, who provides any information needed on their behalf.
