TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. Introduction

My name is Bruno Ázera. I am a professional landscape photographer, born and raised in the Azores, and I run my photography tours and workshops through my company, Bruno Ázera Unipessoal, Lda., based on Terceira Island.

My goal is to invite outdoor and nature enthusiasts to join me on unique photography tours and workshops across the Azores and Madeira, capturing stunning landscapes and experiencing the islands in a way that goes far beyond the typical rush of travel. I believe in meaningful experiences and in building genuine connections with like-minded photographers and explorers.

By paying your deposit, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms and Conditions.

2. A Licensed Travel Agency

Bruno Ázera Unipessoal, Lda. is a licensed travel agency, registered with Turismo de Portugal under RNAVT nº 13682, and a registered tourism activity operator in the Azores under RRAAT 42/2026/RAA.

This means you are not just booking with a photographer, but with a fully licensed and regulated travel company. For you, it means:

• Your tour is a package trip protected by European and Portuguese package travel law, which gives you clear rights if something goes wrong.

• I am responsible for the proper delivery of every service included in your tour, from accommodation to inter-island flights.

• Your payments are protected by the Portuguese Travel and Tourism Guarantee Fund (Fundo de Garantia de Viagens e Turismo). If the company were ever unable to deliver your trip due to insolvency, the fund guarantees the refund of the amounts you paid. This protection covers insolvency and failure to deliver the services; it does not change the cancellation policy described in section 5.

• The company holds the mandatory travel agency civil liability insurance.

3. Registration & Booking

To secure a place on any of my tours or workshops:

• Participants must provide their full name, email address, and phone number, plus any additional details needed for insurance and bookings.

• Before you book, you will receive the standard information form for package travel, together with the itinerary and the details of what is included.

• A deposit (typically €1,000) is required to confirm the reservation. Your booking is confirmed once I receive the deposit and send you a written confirmation.

• Final payment is due 90 days before the start date.

Note: If a booking is made within 90 days of the start date, full payment is required immediately to secure your place.

4. Prices & Payment Methods

Prices

All prices are in euros and include VAT at the current legal rate. The price confirmed at the time of booking will not increase.

Payment methods

• Credit or debit card: through a secure Stripe payment link.

• Bank transfer: details provided upon booking.

Fees

All fees related to bank transfers, including your bank’s fees, intermediary bank fees, and currency conversion costs, are your responsibility. Payments must arrive in full, in euros, for the amount invoiced.

Exclusions

Prices do not include international flights to and from the Azores, alcoholic beverages, personal expenses, or any items not explicitly listed as included in the itinerary.

5. Cancellation & Refund Policy

I understand that booking a photography trip is a commitment, but unexpected changes can happen. Cancellations must be submitted in writing to bruno.azera@gmail.com.

Deposit

The deposit covers the costs of reserving accommodation, flights, and services for your place, and is non-refundable if you cancel. However, it can be transferred to another tour or workshop of mine.

After the final payment

Once the final payment is due (90 days before the start date), all payments are non-refundable, as accommodation, flights, and services are confirmed and paid for your place at that point.

If your place is filled by another participant, either from my waiting list or by transferring it to someone you know, I will refund the amounts you paid, minus the deposit and any costs that cannot be recovered. For this reason, I strongly recommend travel insurance with trip cancellation coverage.

Transfer to another person

If you cannot travel, you may transfer your place to another person who meets the conditions of the tour, by letting me know in writing at least 7 days before the start date. Any additional costs caused by the transfer (such as flight name changes) will be charged at cost.

Unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances

If unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances at the destination, or in its immediate vicinity, significantly affect the tour (for example, a volcanic eruption, a natural disaster, or a serious public health emergency), you may cancel before the start without paying any cancellation fee and receive a full refund of all payments, including the deposit.

Failure to appear

Failure to appear at the scheduled start time, without prior notice, will result in forfeiture of all payments.

Cancellation by me

I may cancel a tour or workshop if the minimum number of participants is not reached, letting you know at least 20 days before the start date. I may also cancel if unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances prevent the tour from going ahead, letting you know as soon as possible. In both cases, you will receive a full refund of all payments within 14 days, or, if you prefer, a transfer to another tour.

6. Inclusions & Logistics

What is included

• Professional guidance, included in all tours and workshops.

• Photography instruction, specifically included for workshops.

• Accommodation and breakfasts.

• Local land transportation and park fees.

• Personal accident insurance and liability coverage.

• All inter-island flights required by the itinerary.

Inter-island flights are booked directly with SATA Air Açores, to ensure full flexibility and direct communication in case of delays or schedule changes.

7. Itinerary Changes, Weather & Flight Disruptions

Landscape photography depends on weather and light, so the daily program is flexible by nature. I may adjust the order of locations, the daily schedule, or the islands visited on each day to give you the best photographic opportunities and to keep everyone safe.

Inter-island flights are operated by SATA Air Açores. If a flight is delayed or cancelled, I will rearrange the itinerary so you still enjoy the full tour, and in most cases no part of the trip is lost.

Changes to the order of locations, the daily schedule, or the islands visited on each day are a normal part of the tour and do not entitle you to a refund or price reduction. Only if an included service is definitively not provided and no alternative can be offered will the value of that specific service be adjusted, as required by law. No additional compensation is due when disruptions are caused by unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances, such as severe weather. Your passenger rights towards the airline under EU law are not affected.

8. Health, Safety & Insurance

Physical health

Participants should be in good physical health and must disclose any medical condition, mobility limitation, or dietary restriction before the trip begins. Please check the activity level on each tour page.

Dietary requests

I will inform accommodation and service providers of dietary needs and do my best to meet them, but some requests may not always be possible on smaller islands and in villages.

Insurance

Personal accident and liability insurance are included. I strongly recommend that you also purchase travel insurance from a reputable provider to cover your international flights, luggage, medical expenses, and trip cancellation.

9. Responsibility & Risks

Photography tours and workshops involve walking on uneven terrain, coastal areas, and trails, often in changing weather. By booking, you accept these natural risks and agree to follow my safety instructions at all times. I am not responsible for injury, loss, or damage caused by not following safety instructions, by your own actions, or by unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances. Please take care of your own camera gear and personal belongings, which are your responsibility.

Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under Portuguese and European package travel law.

10. Participant Conduct & Respect for Locations

Code of conduct

I reserve the right to remove any participant whose behavior is disruptive, unsafe, or negatively affects the group, including violations of local laws or failure to follow safety instructions. No refunds will be given in such cases.

Respect for locations

The locations visited during my tours and workshops are the result of years of personal exploration and scouting. As a gesture of good faith and respect for that work, I kindly ask participants not to organize, promote, or sell photography tours to the specific locations included in the itinerary. This is not a legal restriction, but a matter of professional respect within our community.

11. Photos & Privacy

Photos of participants

I sometimes take photos and videos during tours that may include participants. I will always ask for your permission before publishing any image where you can be identified, and you can ask me to remove a published image at any time.

Privacy

Your personal information is used only to organize your tour and is never sold. It is shared only with the providers needed to deliver your trip, such as accommodation, airlines, and insurers. Full details are in my Privacy Policy at brunoazera.com/privacy-policy.

12. Complaints & Disputes

If something is not right during your tour, please tell me right away so I can fix it on the spot. You can also send a complaint in writing to bruno.azera@gmail.com, or through the official Portuguese electronic complaints book at www.livroreclamacoes.pt. I reply to all complaints within 15 business days.

In case of a dispute, you may also contact the Centro Nacional de Informação e Arbitragem de Conflitos de Consumo (CNIACC), www.cniacc.pt.

13. Legal Information

These tours and workshops are organized by Bruno Ázera Unipessoal, Lda., NIPC 519137833, licensed travel agency RNAVT nº 13682, registered tourism activity operator RRAAT 42/2026/RAA, with registered office at Rua do Jogo, n.º 5, 9760-482 Praia da Vitória, Terceira, Azores, Portugal.

These Terms are governed by Portuguese law, including Decreto-Lei n.º 17/2018 on package travel.
