Think Black and White

There are times that an image will work better in black and white opposed to colors, usually in situations where the light is not the best and the skies are like this.

Those cloudy days that no one likes, are usually the best for this type of photography. Try to think in B&W the next time you go out shooting.

Never forget that there is a lot of information in the clouds, you just have to know how to increase the details.

Those black dots you see on the clouds are birds not dust spots. :)

Here is a before and after so you can have a better idea of what I’m saying.

Used Nik Silver Efex Pro 2 plugin for converting to B&W. Give it a try HERE.

Cheers.

Great black and white photos always give wonderful skies, also liked the photo before and after, give us a good idea of ??what to expect from the program indicated as well as the editing job you had.
